Codes and Standards Staff Engineer - San Francisco, California

Duties and Responsibilities:
Employee will be a member of the Codes and Standards Business Area Team and will perform duties as assigned by the Codes and Standards Team Leader, including (but not be limited to) the following:
  • Building energy code development
  • Energy code economic evaluation
  • Compliance method development
  • Code compliance software tools
  • User's manuals and guidelines
  • Energy code training

Responsibilities for Internal Coordination with Others:
This position will include coordination with other AEC staff members, particularly in the San Francisco office; it may involve collaboration with AEC staff in other offices in the U.S.

Education:
An undergraduate four-year degree in engineering or other related fields is required. Additional graduate degree(s) in a building related field is preferred.

Skills Required:
A candidate for this position must have the following skills:

  • Strong project management, and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills — oral, written, and presentation
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
  • Working knowledge of and experience with local, state, and national energy codes and standards, including Title 24 and ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2004

Typical Years of Full-Time Professional Experience:
Four years preferred.

Salary:
Commensurate with experience.
