Requirements
- BA or BS
- Prior experience with the development and production of large technical manuals
- Project management skills
- Excellent writing and verbal skills
- Keen eye for formatting, graphic and stylistic details
- Commitment to an energy efficient and sustainable environment
- Exceptional computer skills with Word, Acrobat, and other publications software
- Ability to understand and explain complex technical information
- Well organized
- Problem solver
Desirable
- Building construction and design experience or knowledge
- Involvement with sustainable and/or environmental issues
- Mechanical engineering knowledge
- Lighting knowledge
Responsibilities
- Manage and produce technical documents and manuals, including:
- Coordinate the contributions of technical authors
- Manage schedule and budget
- Edit materials and contributions for a consistent style and voice
- Manage the review process; correspond with commentors; and help resolve comments
- Write non-technical material such as introductions, acknowledgements, etc.
- Edit and produce company publications, including: reports, technical manuals, proposals, and other communications
- Set and maintain a company standard for good graphics, consistent formatting and effective writing
- Maintain style sheets and standards for the production of routine reports and documents
