Novel LED Downlight

The project on LED Downlights commercialized a novel LED downlight that is energy efficient and cost-effective. The project team worked with the manufacturing partner to integrate dimmable LEDs into a recessed downlight to achieve an overall system that has a high overall lumen output while providing continuous dimming control at low output levels.

Project team: CLTC and Cooper Lighting

Cooper Lighting developed the 6" LED downlight (http://www.haloltg.com/), based on input from the CLTC. The HALO® product is the first one in the industry to acheive ENERGY STAR® solid state certification.

Halo Unit

The CLTC, as part of the PIER Demonstration and the PIER LCF programs, installed the Cooper HALO Product at the Bidwell Mansion Visitor's Center, operated by the California State Parks. The installation provided the state of the art lighting that improves light quality while decreasing energy consumption..
