Project 4.2 ENERGY STARŪ Residential Fixture - Baseline Conditions

Of the 11,438,113 residential lighting fixtures that were tracked by the US Census as sold in the US in the year 2000 the EPA estimates that approximately 4 percent of those were ENERGY STAR qualified. However, despite the fact that a large percentage of residential fixtures are sold through lighting showrooms, it is also estimated that the vast majority of those ENERGY STAR fixtures were lower end, lower priced fixtures purchased at DIY (do it yourself) home improvement centers.

Applied Proactive Technologies, Inc. (APT) will work in conjunction with Lamps Plus, by far the largest lighting showroom chain throughout the state of California, to obtain baseline sales trends and numbers in order to serve as baseline criteria for this project.
