Concept:

An advanced lighting controller designed to bring low-cost control to existing lighting systems in commercial buildings. The specific hardware is designed to work with commercially available fluorescent lighting ballasts to form the core of a highly progressive, functional and efficient lighting control system. Changes to the existing overhead electrical system are minimized.

Solution:

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Vistron are developing a prototype system that will be tested by PG&E. Once the technology is proven, a manufacturing partner will be engaged to produce the system.
