Program Market Connection

Project Goals
The goal of the Market Connection Project is to guide the market focus of the Program and to increase the adoption and public benefits impact of the projects products and results. The successful outcome of the Market Connection Project can be measured by: a) private sector adoption of technologies and practices from the Program and b) regulatory and voluntary mechanisms that influence the integration of the results into the market and that exist as a result of this project.
Project Objectives
The objectives of this project are to:
- Establish communications and information exchange methods, schedules and
priorities within the Program team specific to their project and the needs
of the market connection effort.
- Solicit input early in the project from program market partners, PAC members,
industry representatives, associations, owners, developers, regulators,
manufacturers and contractors. Document the participation and perspective
of these players and establish rationale for decisions on project activities
based on consideration of the Program objectives and market feedback.
- Identify key contacts and opportunities to leverage the Program team, PAC,
and market partners connections to increase the distribution, penetration
and benefits of the Program results.
- Work within the following three markets to create a comprehensive approach
toward the adoption of the results: 1) California Market Development, 2)
National Market Development, and 3) Policy Intervention Strategies. Apply
the following activities within those markets to successfully crosscut
opportunities for maximum public benefits from the PIER program: a) Codes
and Standards, b) Voluntary Programs, and c) Market Transformation Initiatives.
