What is MDL-Remote?
The MDL-Remote™ system allows you to remotely configure and access data from the MicroDataLogger® equipment. With the advanced software and hardware, you now can collect and analyze data from MDL loggers from your office while the equipment is still collecting data at a project site next door, a mile away, or across the country.
The remote access capability saves you precious time and helps you provide faster service to your customers.
How do I start using the MDL-Remote™ equipment?
First, you need version 4.0 or higher of the
DataManager™ Software.
Then you need an AEC-supplied modem that comes pre-configured to work with the MDL unit. The MDL-Remote™ modem also comes with a custom cable and power supply.
By connecting a MicroDataLogger® unit to the modem, and the modem to a phone line, you can dial up the logger and collect data from the comfort of your own office. This allows you to analyze data and prepare a report, then deliver the report and pick up the logging equipment at the same time. This saves you travel time and speeds up the turnaround on your deliverable to your customer.

MDL-Remote™ Features
- Connect up to 5 loggers to one modem through a smart port
- Place loggers up to 200 feet from the modem using remote cables
- Reconfigure loggers remotely with DataManager™ version 4.0 or higher
- Automate data retrieval with DataRetriever™ software
What is DataRetriever™ software?
The DataRetriever™ software works together with DataManager™ and allows logger users to set automated data retrieval so that precious man hours aren't spent retrieving data manually. For example, you can set the auto retrieve function to collect data at night so that you have data first thing in the morning.
The DataRetriever™ software also provides a data-splicing feature that places all collected data into one data (log) file. To splice data together when using the DataManager™ software, the data needs to be exported to a spreadsheet and spliced together manually. |
