CKV Test Facility

The laboratory is located inside a warehouse facility, and consists of a well-insulated and airtight test cell (see thumbscale image). The following ventilation equipment is part of the test lab:
- two supply air systems
- heating and cooling systems
- exhaust air system
- air flow measuring system (AMCA-style nozzle chamber and laminar flow elements)
Focusing Schlieren flow visualization systems and shadowgraph systems are used to visualize hot or cold air plumes from cooking or refrigerated equipment. The flow visualization systems allow rapid assessment of capture and containment of cooking plumes and refrigerated air flow in food display cases.
