Xcel Energy has selected Architectural Energy Corporation of Boulder to lead its existing Colorado Energy Design Assistance custom consulting program. The Energy Design Assistance (EDA) program provides energy design and analysis services, through Architectural Energy Corporation, free-of-charge to Xcel Energy commercial and industrial electricity customers that meet certain eligibility requirements. Additionally, Xcel Energy commercial customers may receive a financial incentive to reduce the cost of installing energy efficiency measures into their proposed building designs.
"The Energy Design Assistance Program presents a unique opportunity for Xcel Energy customers to obtain free energy design and analysis services and financial incentives to improve the energy performance of their new or renovated buildings," said Lisa Kauffman, Xcel Energy's EDA program manager. "The program will help us achieve our goal of reducing electricity demand."
"Architectural Energy Corporation brings over 25 years of experience in helping Colorado architects, engineers and their clients improve the energy performance of their buildings," said Michael J. Holtz, FAIA, President of Architectural Energy Corporation. "We look forward to working with Xcel Energy, and its commercial and industrial customers, to reduce their energy consumption and costs, and greenhouse gas emissions, through participation in the Energy Design Assistance Program."
"Xcel Energy commercial and institutional customers are encouraged to contact their Xcel Energy account manager or Architectural Energy Corporation to learn more about the Energy Design Assistance Program and whether they are eligible to participate," said Kauffman.
