Project Highlights

E-Learning for High Performance Schools Interactive Training
AEC provided content for an entire Internet-based, interactive training program focused on providing architects and engineers with information on high performance school design. The scope of the online training covers lighting and daylighting; site design; waste management and recycling; mechanical systems and building envelope; and commissioning.

CHPS Training Slides
The CHPS PowerPoint training slides were developed as part of a comprehensive training program on high performance design for California schools. Based on the highly respected Best Practices Manual, these free, one-day training sessions cover all aspects of high performance design including materials and indoor air quality; daylighting and electric lighting; HVAC systems; and the CHPS Criteria system. These programs have reached thousands of architects, engineers, and school district officials throughout the state.

CHPS E-Bulletin Newsletter
The CHPS E-bulletin is a quarterly newsletter that discusses hot topics in the high performance industry, with an emphasis on schools. The newsletter provides architects, engineers, designers, district representatives, teachers and others interested on keeping up-to-date with the latest on high performance schools with valuable information. Past newsletters have covered a wide array of topics, ranging from how districts can adopt a CHPS district resolution to rudimentary facts on choosing a licensed contractor.

Hawaii Homeowner’s Guide to Energy, Comfort and Value Brochure
This brochure was acknowledged “Best of Show” at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) National Workshop on State Building Energy Codes held in Atlanta in 2003. AEC was hired by the state of Hawaii to design and produce a full-color brochure for homeowners in Hawaii on techniques for making residences more energy efficient. The brochure covered topics such as water conservation, termite control, ceiling fans, and cool windows. AEC produced original graphics, content, and layout for the brochure.
